PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound in high yield under a low pressure, by reacting carbon monoxide with hydrogen in the presence of a catalytic system consisting of a rhodium compound and a rhenium compound. CONSTITUTION:Carbon monoxide is reacted with hydrogen in the presence of a catalytic system containing a rhodium compound and a rhenium compound, e.g. ReCl3, ReO3 or NH4ReO4, preferably in an amount of give a ratio between the numbers of gram-atoms of rhenium in the rhenium compound and the rhodium in the rhodium compound of about 0.01-100, preferably 0.1-10, preferably about 150-300 deg.C to give the titled compound. The molar ratio (CO/H2) between the carbon monoxide and the hydrogen to be fed is usually about (2/1)-(1/5). A co- catalyst, e.g. an alkali metallic compound or ammonia, is preferably used in the catalytic system. |
