The document comprises a base card with a photographic reproduction made up of an image section and a text section, and a transparent covering which is fixed permanently to at least the photographic reproduction. Use is made of an adhesive composed of a glue which cures irreversibly; the photographic reproduction comprises at least three different coloured layers and at least one transparent covering carries, inside, various differently encoded markings. According to the process, the markings which are fluorescently illuminated are applied inside the lower and upper films, after which the lower face, facing inwards, of the markings is covered with a covering. The invention applies to the provision of documents in which it is a simple matter to detect tampering. <IMAGE>
