PURPOSE:To provide a detergent composition having high safety, lowly irritant to the skin and the hair, and excellent in foaming ability, detergency, etc., by using a specified anionic surface active agent and a specified amphoteric surfactant as the active ingredients. CONSTITUTION:A lowly irritant detergent composition is produced by using an anionic surfactant (A) of formula I (wherein R1 is 10-20C alkyl or alkenyl; R2 is 1-3C alkyl; M1 is an alkali metal or alkanolamine) and an amphoteric surfactant (B) of formula II (wherein R3 is 1-8C alkyl; M2 is an alkali metal) as the active ingredients. An example of component A is sodium N-lauroyl-N- methylaminoethanesulfonate. An example of component B is monosodium 2-(N- tetradecyl-N-methylamino)ethyl phosphate. |
