The invention relates to passenger transport vehicles, more particularly the footboard for access to the boarding platform (bay) of such vehicles. The invention relates to a lowerable lower step for a footboard of a vehicle, such as a public-transport vehicle, a lower step of the type with vertical offset under a first fixed step secured to the floor of the vehicle.
