Method for removing the internal conductors from a cable contained in a sheath, with one or more insulating layers consisting of organic material placed in-between, comprising the stages of cutting the cable into pieces of suitable length, injecting a mixture of oxygen and propellant gas into one of the ends of a piece at a sufficient pressure to achieve penetration by the mixture into the space between the conductors and the insulating material, and its ejection from the other end of the piece, igniting the organic material from the second end and continuing to deliver the said gas mixture until complete burning of the organic material is achieved, reducing it to ash and other combustion residues, proceeding with extraction of the internal conductors, removing the combustion wastes by mechanical or pneumatic means and washing the inside of the sheath with jets of water under pressure to make it ready for reuse. |
