The antenna consists of a number of telescopically-slidable components whose deployment is controlled mechanically from the base of the structure by a pedal action. A base plate (1) is supported on the ground, and carries a tubular cruciform structure (1') which receives a series of radiating extension beams (2, 2', 2''). Support members (12, 12') attached to the base carry, by pins (14) passing through corresponding holes (13), a T-shaped cross-member (3') supporting the lower end of a vertical shaft (3''). The vertical shaft is tubular and supports further vertical members (4-6) by articulated connections securable by locking pins. ADVANTAGE - May be assembled to any required length by simple operation from ground level.
