This involves assembling two components (10, 11) one of which, the outer component (11), engaged via an internal bore (13) on the other, must back up onto a transverse shoulder (14) of the latter, whilst being secured to it both axially and circumferentially. According to the invention, on the one hand a frustoconical bearing surface (15) is formed in advance on the outer component (10), extending circumferentially around the border of the opening of its internal bore (13) and, on the other hand, at least one groove (16) is made in advance extending along a generatrix of this internal bore (13) and, after the outer component (11) has been applied against its shoulder (14), the internal component (10) is forged (stamped, pressed) leading its material to press against the frustoconical bearing surface (15) of the outer component (11) and at least partially to invade its groove (16). Application, particularly, to friction discs for clutches and variable-speed drive pulleys particularly for motor vehicles. <IMAGE>
