A bed comprises a stand 2 and a thereby supported apparatus 7 arranged to form support surfaces for supporting a person in need of care who is resting in the bed. The bed further comprises means 12-15,18-21 which are arranged to enable temporary displacement, along at least the one longitudinal side of the bed, of at least one part of the outer side limit of the apparatus from its regular position in towards the middle of the bed in order to provide a space arranged to allow a person to stand next to the bed closer to its middle than is allowed by the apparatus in its regular position. <IMAGE> |
