The invention relates to a contact device for use in equipment intended to test electrical or electronic circuits of the type which comprises a number of metallic contact elements each consisting of a sliding straight rod whose front end is used to make contact with the circuits under test; a helical compression spring is mounted coaxially on this rod so as to press it on to the circuits under test and the rear end of the spring rests on a metal abutment mounted on a supporting plate. This contact device is characterised in that the helical compression spring 15 projects backwards beyond the rod 12 and in that the surface of the abutment is the front surface of a separate small metal abutment 20 fixed on the supporting plate 19.
