COMPUTER GRAPHICS APPARATUS AND METHOD OF THE SAME

PURPOSE: To constitute an area boundary which is to be plotted in an auxiliary bit map from the segments of two crossing picture elements by providing an address bit map, the auxiliary bit map, an area paint-out logic circuit and an area boundary plotting logic circuit. CONSTITUTION: The address bit map 11 containing plural picture bits mapped by plural picture elements for indicating a picture, the auxiliary bit map 1 containing the plural area boundary bits showing the picture element drawing the area boundary surrounding one area in the picture and the area paint-out logic circuit 7 processing the picture bit surrounded by the area boundary for painting out the area by specified pattern and color are provided. The area boundary plotting logic circuit 5 having a segment division means for analyzing the designated boundary into the two crossing picture element segments and differently processing analyzed segments for defining the area boundary bit in accordance with a prescribed area boundary plotting rule is provided for a display logic circuit. Thus, the boundary can be plotted in any directions in accordance with the general rule of boundary plotting.
