<p>The adjustable nozzle assembly (10) for a trigger sprayer (20) comprises an externally threaded nose bushing (14) and a nozzle cap (12) threadable upon the bushing (14). The nozzle cap (12) has a discharge orifice (49) located in its front face (26) and a flange skirt (32) extending from a front wall (28) thereof. The flange skirt (32) is threaded (34) inside the rear portion thereof and an internally stepped surface (36) is located forwardly of the threads to provide two reduced diameter annular surfaces (40, 44). The nozzle cap (12) is selectively threadably positionable on the bushing (14) between three positions such that the positioning of the inner surface (30) of the front wall (28) and the annular surfaces (40, 44) of the flange skirt (32) selectively cooperate with a front face (52) and annular periphery (60) of a nose bushing face disc (50) having two angular grooves (61, 62) in the annular periphery (60) thereof thereby selectively to provide a stop mode, a spray mode, and a stream mode position.</p> |
