PURPOSE:To simplify a signal processing process and to obtain the inexpensive picture recording and reproducing system by applying the signals which correspond one to one to the signals read out of a CCD solid-state image pickup element as they are to the picture element electrodes of a matrix type display means. CONSTITUTION:The numbers of the vertical and horizontal picture elements of the CCD solid-state image pickup element 22 on which subject images are made incident via a photographic lens 20 are respectively set the same as the number of the vertical and horizontal picture elements of the matrix type display means (liquid crystal display device) 10. The CCD solid-state image pickup element 22 makes the successively read out signals by each picture element into the signals corresponding one to one to the accumulation charge signals by each picture element by executing, for example, sample holding, gamma correction, etc. These signals are applied as they are to the corresponding picture element electrodes of the matrix type display means without converting the signals to an NTSC system. The need for converting the video signals to the prescribed system of the NTSC system, etc., is eliminated in this way and the signal processing circuit is simplified. |
