928,560. Casting elastic synthetic resin webs. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. June 9, 1961 [June 10, 1960], No. 20988/61. Class 87(2). Webs of elastic synthetic resins are made by pouring liquid resins into a space 5 formed between a conveyer belt 2 passing about a guide roller 3 adjacent to a winding cylinder 4, causing the liquid to solidify and winding the solidified webs on the conveyer belt 2 about the winding cylinder 4. The wound webs may then be heated. A pair of limiting bars 1 of elastic material are provided on the conveyer belt 2, or on the winding cylinder, or are continuously inserted in between the belt and the cylinder, said bars determining the width of the web. Fabric or filament-like reinforcements may be imbedded in the web by passing them into the casting gap 5. The apparatus may be coated with a mould releasing agent e.g. silicone oil to prevent adhesion of the web to the apparatus. An embodiment is described in which the conveyer belt passes over two guide rolls, one similar to the roller 3 above and one situated below the winding cylinder. Specifications 700,608, 700,609, 700,610, 700,611, 769,680 and 769,682 are referred to. |
