PURPOSE:To obtain uniform thin films on the surfaces of spherical materials, such as spherical lenses, by forming recesses or through-holes to be imposed with the spherical materials on the propagation path of the acoustic waves excited by an acoustic wave exciting mechanism. CONSTITUTION:This sample holder is constituted of the acoustic wave exciting mechanism 2, a sample mounting plate 1 which is formed with the plural recesses 5 to be imposed with the spherical materials 6 atop the plate on the propagation path of the acoustic waves excited by the acoustic wave exciting mechanism 2 and fixing parts 3, 4 to be fixed with the sample mounting plate 1. The progressive acoustic waves propagating in a right direction are excited in the sample mounting plate 1 and the elliptic motion rotating in the direction opposite from the progressing direction of the acoustic waves, i.e. counterclockwise is generated in the surface of the sample mounting plate 1 at this time. The uniform spherical coating films are obtd. in this way and the holder is easily applicable even to very small samples. |
