PURPOSE:To insert and remove a connector rapidly by providing a contact holder at the inner surface of a plug contact insertion/removal hole, and controlling the projecting length of the contact holder by a piezoelectric property. CONSTITUTION:When a plug contact (PC) 13 is inserted to a plug contact insertion/removal hole 22, a voltage is applied between electrodes 25 and 26 to apply the voltage to piezoelectric materials 24, so as to reduce the projecting length of the contact holders 23, and thereby the PC 13 can be inserted to the hole 22 with no insertion force without contacting the PC 13 to sockets (SC) 27. When the applied voltage is cut off, the materials 24 are expanded to increase the projecting length of the holders 23, the SCs 27 are pressed to the outer surface of the PC 13, and the both members are contacted each other. When the PC 13 is removed, only the voltage is applied to the electrodes 25 and 26, and the PC 13 can be removed with no removing force from the hole 22. Consequently, a rapid insertion and removal can be carried out. |
