PURPOSE:To positively form the matrix of active materials as well as to concurrently prevent metal cadmium incapable of discharging from being accumulated by immersing an active material filled-in substrate coated with the active materials mainly composed of cadmium oxides into alkaline water solution so as to make up a neutralized substrate, and thereby adding materials to said neutralized substrate, which are selected out of groups of polysaccharide in a cellulose series. CONSTITUTION:An active material filled-in substrate coated with active materials mainly composed of cadmium oxides is immersed in alkaline water solution so that a neutralized substrate is thereby formed. In the second place, materials which are selected out of polysaccharide groups in a cellulose series, polyvinyle pyrrolidon or their derivatives, are added to the aforesaid neutralized substrate. This thereby allows the surface of the active materials to be coated with polysaccharide groups in a cellulose series. Coating as mentioned above restrains metal cadmium from being nucleuses producing cadmium hydrooxides. As a result, precipitated cadmium hydrooxides can be prevented from being finely divided, and also metal cadmium incapable of discharging can be prevented from being accumulated. |
