<p>PURPOSE:To record a tape until its last possible end point by changing tape speed for a triple mode to perform the recording when a tape residual amt. is not enough to be recorded until the last. CONSTITUTION:Video tape traveling speed is changed between a standard mode speed and the triple mode speed by a tape speed control part 5 so that the video tape recordable time is changed between a standard time and its triple time. A comparison between a reservation residual time and a tape residual time is made in a cycle within a given period of time by a comparator 9 under execution of reservation recording to decide as to whether such an expression as (tape residual time under standard mode) X 3 <= (reservation residual time) + X (X >= 0) is established or not. Under execution of reservation recording at the standard mode, the tape speed is changed over to the triple mode by the decision, and after that time, the recording is performed at the triple mode. By this method, the recording is performed until its reservation ending time on the tape until its last possible end position.</p> |
