<p>A high temperature ceramic/metallic turbine engine (10) includes a metallic housing (12) which journals a rotor member (20) of the turbine engine. A ceramic disk-like shroud portion (46) of the engine (10) is supported on the metallic housing portion (54) and maintains a close running clearance with the rotor member (20). A ceramic spacer assembly (52) maintains the close running clearance of the shroud portion (46) and rotor member (20) despite differential thermal movements between the shroud portion (46) and metallic housing portion (54).</p> |
