The film memory thermoplastic composition comprises a mixture of about 5-20 parts by weight of optionally cross-linked polynorbornene, and about 80-95 parts by weight of at least one polyolefin and of a sufficient amount of polynorbornene plasticizer to reduce its glass-transition temperature to the range of rubbers. As a polyolefin, a composition is selected which comprises from 80 to 100 % of at least one ethylene copolymer and at least one alpha -olefin selected from propylene and butene-1, said copolymer having a density between 0.850 and 0.890 and a melt flow index between 0.3 and 15 dg/min., and from 0 to 20 % of at least one polypropylene polymer. Applications: gaskets, footwear components, flexible tubing, shock-absorbing elements, profiles for the automobile and construction industries, etc. |
