<p>Microparticles of substantially uniform size (or according to a predetermined size distribution) are produced by moulding in microdepressions formed in a moulding sheet. The moulding sheet is typically of etched silicon or is produced using an etched silicon stamp. The microparticles are demoulded by adhering a backing sheet thereon, peeling off the backing sheet with the adhered microparticles, and dissolving away the backing sheet if desired. The microparticles are generally of a truncated pyramidal shape and have a particle size of 10-50 microns.</p> |
