The motor vehicle has a combined shock absorber and levelling control unit. The shock absorber (2) has a housing (3) which encloses a piston with a piston rod (4). The upper end of the piston rod (4) is attached to a rubber mounting which is in turn attached to the vehicle bodywork. The unit is provided with an air spring formed by a flexible bellows (16) with means for the supply and release of compressed air in order to control the vehicle height. The height of the vehicle is measured by means of an induction coil (26) mounted inside the tubular support (25) inside the air spring. USE - Shock absorber and level regulator for motor vehicle.
