PURPOSE:To obtain glass with a functional thin film having superior uniformity, appearance and durability with high productivity by cutting a glass sheet, screen- printing a liq. for forming the functional thin film contg. starting material for a metal oxide on a prescribed part of the glass sheet, heating and bending the sheet and calcining the printed film. CONSTITUTION:A glass sheet 1 is cut to a desired shape and a liq. for forming a functional thin film contg. starting material for a metal oxide, e.g. titanium alkoxide is screen-printed on a prescribed part of the sheet 1 to form a printed film 2. The sheet 1 is then heated and bent and/or tempered. At the same time, the film 2 is calcined to form a metal oxide-based functional film and glass 1 with the functional thin film is obtd. When a bronze glass sheet 3 is laminated on the glass 1 with a plastic middle layer 4 in-between, a combiner for a head-up display is obtd.
