Plastic materials, particularly those made of phenolformaldehyde condensates with 40-60 M% cotton components, are disposed of by gasification and/or carbonisation methods, and then comminated by known methods (briquetting). Plastic materials comminated to 1.0 mm are mixed with crude coal or dry coal in ratio of 0.3:5(3) M% (based on dry coal). ADVANTAGE - Higher strength is achieved by briquetting, a surprisingly high coke strength is detectable after coking, no environmental-polluting gases or residues are produced and the phenolformaldehyde condensates serve as auxiliary agents.
