PURPOSE:To reduce the slip time width of the display contents with a simple control method just by changing the sequence control method with no change given to the hard constitution of a digital audio disk player. CONSTITUTION:The data is read out of a disk and processed continuously while a fast traversing or rewinding indication is given. While the sound output is cut off. The music number and the time elapsed are displayed and changed consecutively at a speed of a fixed multiple as mush as that of a normal reproduction mode obtained immediately before the fast traversing or rewinding indication is given. Then an access is started to a disk position corresponding to the music number and the time elapsed at that time point in case the fast traversing or rewinding indication is discontinued. Then the display is started again for the music number and the time elapsed by means of the data read out of the disk as well as the sound output at and after a time point when the above-mentioned access is over. Thus it is possible to reduce the skip time width of the display contents with a simple control method.
