New pigments, suitable for the coloration of plastics, lacquers and inks are salts of formula I- Fn.-A (I) in which F is the residue of a metal-free anionic dyestuff having 1 to 4 acid groups, e.g. of the azo, anthraquinone, phthalocyanine, perylene, (thio)indigo, perinone, quinacridone, dioxazine, isoindoline, pyrrole or diketopyrrole series; n is 1 to 2; and A is a group containing 1 to 4 sterically hindered amine groups and at least n ammonium or immonium groups. Preferred sterically hindered groups are- <IMAGE> R11 is hydrogen or C1-4 alkyl; each R12 independently is C1-6 alkyl; both groups R13 independently are hydrogen, methyl or ethyl or one group R13 is phenyl or both groups R13 together form a group of (CH2); and Y is a group of the formula -@CO- or -CO-@-. |
