An inflatable tyre has a tread section moulded from selected types of foamed rubber with a closed cell structure. The foamed rubber meets a number of physical property specifications which include hardness, average cell surface area, variation coefft. for the cell surface area and percentage of cells per given section of tread. The tread region comprises a multilayer construction. USE/ADVANTAGE - The tyre is suitable for use on ice and snow and has improved stability and abrasion resistance on dry and wet road surfaces.
