PURPOSE:To improve the contrast of a visual recording pattern without lowering peeling-resistance strength on the interface of a thermal recording layer by interposing an intermediate layer including nitrocellulose brought into contact with the thermal recording layer between both layers of a magnetic recording layer and the thermal recording layer. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal magnetic recording medium A, a magnetic recording layer 2a composed of a magnetic film and having thickness of approximately 5-30mum, an intermediate layer 3 containing nitro-cellulose and having thickness of approximately 0.5-3mum, a thermal recording layer 4 consisting of the thin-film of a low melting- point metal, and a protective layer 5a made up of a transparent synthetic resin material and having thickness of approximately 2-8mum are laminated and formed onto a nonmagnetic base body 1 composed of a synthetic resin sheet in succession. Since nitrocellulose has a nitro group and a hydroxyl group and has strong polarity, adhesion to the low melting-point metal is increased, thermal decomposition or combustion is conducted together with the melting of the metal and polarity is lost, and the cohesiveness of a molten metal is augmented extremely, thus acquiring a distinct visual recording pattern having the small masking area ratio of a foundation by the molten metal in a recording pattern, the high density of a foundation color and a strong contrast. |
