PURPOSE:To remove the change of chromatic color caused at an edge part by substitut ing the hue value of a picture element at a nearly middle position for the hue value of each picture element of a detected chromatic color picture element string, and obtaining the mean value of the substituted hue values of each picture element and the picture elements at its neighborhood, and substituting the value for the hue value of each picture element. CONSTITUTION:A hue value substituting means 5 obtains the hue value of the picture element positioned at the nearly middle position of the detected chromatic color picture element string, and executes the correction of the color slippage of a chromatic color caused in a main scanning line direction by substituting the hue value of the middle position for the hue value of each picture element of the detected chromatic color picture element string. Subsequently, a hue value averaging means 6 obtains the mean value of the hue values of the remarked picture element to be a processed object and the picture element positioned in the neighboring area of the remarked picture element, and corrects the color slippage of the chromatic color caused in a subscanning line direction by substituting the obtained mean hue value for the hue value of the remarked picture element. Thus, the change of the chromatic color caused at the edge part of the chromatic color in color picture data can be removed. |
