PURPOSE:To execute the display of other different screen resolution than an integer multiple or a 1/integer fold by selecting a pitch corresponding to a display mode by placing repeatedly two picture element groups whose picture element pitches are different on the same panel surface. CONSTITUTION:In a color LCD device of an active matrix driving system, an electrode 11ij containing a TFT is provided two-dimensionally on each picture element, and in each electrode, filters of R, G and B are formed successively and repeatedly in the horizontal direction. Pitches of the electrode 11ij are different in an even number line and an odd number line, the picture elements of the even number lines constitute a second picture element group, and by the picture elements of the odd number lines, a first picture element group is constituted. Also, three pieces become a unit and two pieces of source signal lines among them are connected to a source of the TFT contained in a second picture element group, and the remaining one piece passes through a space between the electrodes of the even number lines as a wiring. By selecting the pitch corresponding to a display mode, a color screen of resolution corresponding to the purpose is displayed, and the utilization range as the display device is enlarged. |
