The circuit turns on the radio receiver automatically when the emergency warning signal is detected so that the listener can hear the emergency warning signal regardless of the on/off state of the receiver. The radio frequency signal received by the RF unit of the receiver is applied to the emergency signal detector, and a R-S flip-flop transmits the switch control signal by receiving the outputs of the detector and OR gates. Then the switch, is turned on to drive the low frequency unit of the receiver.
