The lamp holder 9 for a lamp of the H1 type, for a motor vehicle headlight, comprises a planar reference face (15) intended to receive, in bearing, a disc for positioning a lamp of the H1 type, which reference face (15) has a central opening (16) for the passage of a body of the lamp and means for angular positioning of the said lamp, consisting of a guide hole (17), separated from the said central opening (16), and an oblong slot (18) opening in the said central opening (16).
