Device for indicating, precisely, the real direction of Mecca, from any point on the Earth. This device is characterised by a planisphere, divided up into regions with the same orientation towards Mecca, with respect to the magnetic North. Each of these regions is indexed by a symbol, common to all the regions having the same orientation, with respect to the magnetic North. The regions, on the planisphere, are bounded by a previous pattern, made on a terrestrial globe; the real orientation being obtained from rays converging towards Mecca and towards its antipode. A compass 4 (or the like), surrounded by a dial 5, bearing the symbols of the various regions, is integral with the planisphere. Whether on land, at sea or in the air, in order to determine the direction of Mecca, it suffices to read the symbol of the region in which one finds oneself and to orient the planisphere in such a way as to superimpose the corresponding symbol of the dial with the direction of the North. The median South-North axis of the planisphere then indicates the real direction of Mecca. <IMAGE>
