<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the block distortion generated due to image information compression by bringing a position which becomes a reference of a block to position change. CONSTITUTION:A digital image signal is supplied to a blocking circuit 22, divided into square blocks placed two-dimensionally, and for instance, a signal of the whole screen is divided into 480X900 blocks by setting 8X8 picture elements as one block. In this case, a reference position of the block is changed in a frame period by an offset processing circuit 27, and shifted by a four-picture element (1/2 block) portion. Accordingly, as for frame screens P1, P3, its block position is shifted by a 1/2 block in the horizontal/the vertical directions against P2. In such a way, since the boundary between each block is changed periodically, it comes to be related to data between each block, and the block distortion is reduced.</p> |
