PURPOSE:To realize the automatic stopage of a magnetic tape at a prescribed position, by providing the 2nd counter to stop the rewind action (REW) in addition to the 1st counter whch displays take-up quantity. CONSTITUTION:The 2nd counter 15 is reset to zero at an edge where a low level signal becomes effective to switch a video head 24 of a VTR, etc. to the recording mode. When the contents of a counter 14 or 15 becomes zero, zero detecting circuits 22 and 23 deliver the count-zero signals. At least one of these output signals can be detected by an OR circuit 21. The output of the circuit 21 and the REW signal are supplied to an AND circuit 19, and the output signal of the circuit 19 is supplied to a mechanism control part 20 in the form of a STOP command signal to give an instruction for the discontinuation of REW. As a result, the tape stops automatically at the position where the recording is finally started in case the REW operation is carried out after an operator of the VTR finishes the recording. |
