1,019,500. Compartmented containers; drop delivering apparatus. G. RINSER. June 24, 1964, No. 26036/64. Headings B8D and B8N. [Also in Division A5] A phial containing two substances'to be mixed before use comprises sealed containers 1, 6 of transparent plastics material and a plastics link member 3 holding a tube 10, which may be of chromium nickel steel, the pointed end of the tube being forced down through a rubber or plastics cap 16 and a plug 17 on the container 1 as the link member 3 is screwed down, thereby providing a passage between the two containers. When the container 6 is squeezed repeatedly its contents are forced through a channel 21 into the tube 10. The container 6 is held by friction on the member 3. A bush 13 may be shrunk on to the tube 10. In a modification, the member 3 is of hardenable plastics, Fig. 2 (not shown), and has a pointed boss 25 in place of the tube 10. In this form, the device may be used for drop delivery, Fig. 3 (not shown). Again, Fig. 4 (not shown), the container 27 is of non-resilient material and is closed by a stopper 28 to which a threaded position 38 of the container 34 may be screwed to form a piston for expelling liquid through a tube 32 in the form of an injection needle. A separating wall may be formed in the neck of the lower container, Fig. 5 (not shown). The piston type of container closure may be associated with the containers 1 and 27 when made of glass, the vessels 6 and 34 being non-resilient; the transfer of material to the containers 1 and 27 respectively in these instances is effected by withdrawing the piston. |
