PURPOSE:To widen the possibility of musical expression by setting the present value and target value of filter characteristics and outputting an interruption signal and announcing the completion of interpolation when the present value attains the target value by interpolation. CONSTITUTION:A filter system 15 constitutes the filters of multistage constitu tion by time division. The cut-off frequency of the filter system 15 changes from the present value fi toward the target value fdi at the changing speed meeting the value of the interpolation speed when the target value fdi and initial value fi of various musical tone assignment information are set. The interruption signal Inti corresponding to the filters of various stages is outputted to a system controller 13 when the cut-off frequency attains the target value fdi. The possibility of the musical expression is widened in this way and the diversified changes in timbre are imparted to the musical tones.
