PURPOSE:To prevent the damage of a heating resistor by covering the heating resistor with a protective cover at a time other than the operating time thereof to protect the same. CONSTITUTION:In such a state that a platen roller l is in contact with a thermal head 2, the lock pin 15 of an opening and closing body 13 is engaged with the hook part 14a of a lock lever 14 and the opening and closing body 13 is in a closed state and an operating part 13a pushes the loft upper end part of a protective cover 7 to rotate the protective cover 7 in a clockwise direction and a heating resistor 6 receives the elastic force of an energizing spring 10 to come into contact with the platen roller 1 through recording paper 11a. When the engagement of the lock pin 15 and the hook part 14a is released, the operating part 13a rises by the revolution of the opening and closing body 13. Whereupon, the platen roller 1 and the thermal head 2 are separated each other and the protective cover 7 is rotated in the clockwise direction by the tensile force of a tensile spring 9 and comes into contact with the left lower end of an Al support 3 to stop its rotation. In this state, the protective cover 7 covers the leading end part of the thermal head 2 containing the heating resistor 6. |
