The spacer ring (2) for use on the outer surface of pipes is made of annular segments (4) each of which has two lateral, space-apart pads (8) joined by a bridge (10) to form a ring. The bridge consists of two parts one in the form of a round bar (12) and the other a ring segment (14) apart from it. A part (16) sticks out from the side pads (8) and has a tranverse hole (18) in which is open towards the inside of the ring (21) by a transverse slit (20). The round bar (12) of another ring-segment part is pressed into the transverse hole via the slot. USE/ADVANTAGE - The spacer ring clings adequately to the ring and is securely fixed and can be used for various diameters of pipes.
