A dental technician's model of a patient's jaw or teeth is brought to a level position by mounting it on a base plate (1) (fig a). This base plate (1) is supported on three legs (2,3) of which two legs (2) are provided with levelling screws. A circular spirit level (4) is attached to the model by means of a permanent magnet (5) (fig. b) and a disc (6) (fig c). The disc (6) has three projections on its undersurface which enable it to be pressed into the plaster of the model and become bonded to the model when the plaster hardens., This disc then receives the magnet which in turn receives the circular spirit level (4).
