IMAGE FORMING DEVICE AND DEVELOPER FOR DEVELOPING ELECTROSTATICALLY CHARGED IMAGE

PURPOSE:To prevent toner from firmly sticking to a surface and to prevent film-shaped stain by providing a developing device which applies a developer on a developer carrier through the use of an elastic blade. CONSTITUTION:To regulate the developer carried to a developing area 4 to be a prescribed thickness and to form a developer thin layer, the elastic blade 9 is provided. The elastic blade 9 abuts on the developer carrier 6 with its elasticity and is fixed to a developer container 2 with a blade supporting member 10 composed of a rigid body like iron. The elastic blade 9 is abutted in the rotating or counter directions of the developer carrier 6 with prescribed line pressure with respect to the rotation direction of the developer carrier 6. Thereby, the toner is prevented from firmly sticking to both surfaces of the elastic blade 9 and the developer carrier 6 and film-shaped stain even if the pressure between the blade 9 and the carrier 6 is strong.
