A wall forming part of civil engineering work or part of a building is constructed from pre-fabricated insulating panels installed side by side. Each panel consists of a core (2) of thermal insulation material which is enclosed in a housing made of relatively rigid metal foil. This housing is sealed against water vapour and is then filled with the insulation material. The joints between the panels are filled with a sealing compound (4). The metal foil of the housing has a minimum thickness of 0.5mm. USE - Thermally insulating walls.
