Power supply method for facsimile machine - providing separate arrangements for stand-by and operating conditions

Stand-by power for the copier (GE) is provided by a mains supply (NG), with the additional load during operation supplied by a rechargeable battery (A). The mains supply also charges the battery via charging circuit (LS). Via a control circuit (SS) the condition of the supplies is monitored and indicated on a display (AE), and if the battery is running down due to mains failure the same circuit arranges line disconnection, data security in memory (DS) and power saving. ADVANTAGE - Simple realisation with small power consumption in stand-by mode, power monitoring and data security.
