Fire-proof building layer - has plates secured at their edges by profiled bars in a self-supporting assembly

The fireproof assembly, for use as an intermediate layer in building structures, has at least two plates (2, 3) of a flame-resistant or non-inflammable material, parallel to each other with a gap between them. At least one cross beam (20) extends between the parallel edges (4, 5) of the plates (2, 3) secured by the profiled bars (6, 7) or two cross-beams are fitted with a gap between their sides and between their end faces of the assembly. A mineral or rock wool ispacked in the interior (8) between the plate edges (4, 5) and the cross-beams (20). The profiled bars (6, 7) are of steel plate strips with bent side legs (12, 13) and beadings (9, 10) all spaced from each other. The outer edges of the plate edges (4, 5) near the profiled bars (6, 7) have a chamber (16) with an adjacent groove (14, 15) and a cut-back section (17). The bent legs (12, 13) of the profiled bars (6, 7) engage the groove (14) for the bars (6, 7) to rest against the cut-back section (17) and bond the plates (2, 3) together and form a smooth side for the assembly (1). The ends of the cross beams (20) have angled straps (22), parallel to the profiled bars (6, 7), fixed by screws (21) at the level of the beadings (9, 10) and passing through them. At least one further plate can be fitted to the lower plate (2) in the interior (8). ADVANTAGE - The assembly resists the effects of fire from above and below, and is a self-supporting unit which can be dismantled and reinserted as a complete unit.
