PURPOSE:To speed up diverse data conversion by rearranging Q-bit patterns in the ascending or descending order of P bits, ORing Q-bit patterns corresponding to bits of logic 1 in order and generating Q-bit codes. CONSTITUTION:The Q-bit patterns made to correspond to respective P bits are rearranged in the ascending or descending order of the P bits to generate the P-bit codes in order and the respective generated P-bit codes are checked in the ascending or descending order of the bits. Thus, the Q-bit patterns corre sponding to the bits of logic 1 are ORed in order to generate Q-bit codes, which are rearranged in the ascending or descending order of the contents of the P-bit codes. Consequently, the code book which can convert a P-bit code sequence into a Q-bit code sequence is generated and the conversion is speeded up. |
