Replacing rotating elements in voltametric diffusion cell - by equivalent liq. movements into and out of apertured central vessel
摘要
In voltametric processes such as chronoamperometry or cyclical voltametry involving control of diffusion, based on hydrodynamic flow and derived from concn. differences between a main body of electrolyte and that at the surface of a rotating disc or combination of disc and ring, similar conditions are produced by moving the liq. itself rather than an immersed disc etc.. In suitable appts. the cell contains an inner cylindrical vessel (2) contg. a fixed electrode and counter-electrode (5a, 5b) and with holes or slots in floor and base for inward and outward movement of electrolyte under the stirring action of a submerged magnetic bar rotated by a standard external unit (4). ADVANTAGE - Provides suitable flow conditions without problems of contacts and centering.
