The wind deflector rises off the leading edge of the roof opening to a top edge whose height is reduced by recesses in the length sense of the vehicle. The deflector profile (8) is an extended top surface (10,11) in the length sense of the vehicle and right the way along the profile raised bodies (12) adjoin each of the recesses (13). The pitch of the top surfaces of these shallow recesses aer smaller towards the rear (14) than the pitch of raised bodies (12) between them. Pref. the recesses expand crossways towards the vehicle rear and the raised bodies are applied to the basic deflector profile. USE/ADVANTAGE - Motor vehicles. The oncoming wind is turbulised by recesses and elevations along the deflector to shield the interior of the vehicle from air turbulence and also prevent resonance induced roof and cover vibration.
