PURPOSE:To prevent the cleaning defect for a long time, by piling two members different in modulus of elasticity to constitute a cleaning blade and setting the modulus of elasticity of the member, which is brought into contact with a photoreceptor, to a value higher than that of the other member. CONSTITUTION:In a cleaning blade 2 brought into contact with the surface of a photoreceptor drum 1, a member 3 of a high modulus of elasticity brought into contact with the photoreceptor drum 1 and a member 4 of a modulus of elasticity lower than that of the member 3 are piled up. Elastic materials such as polyurethane rubber are used for the member 3, and elastic materials having a modulus of elasticity lower than that of the member 3 such as polyurethane rubber are used for the member 4. The blade 2 is so held by a holding member 5 that the blade 2 is pressed to the surface of the photoreceptor 1 at a proper angle theta with proper pressure force. By this constitution, the blade 2 is brought into contact with the overall surface of the photoreceptor 1 uniformly to prevent the blade edge part from wearing down for a long time and the vibration of the blade, and thus, the cleaning defect is prevented for a long time. |
