IMAGE RECEIVING MEDIUM FOR SUBLIMATION TYPE THERMAL TRANSFER

PURPOSE:To provide an image receiving medium generating no strike-through and enhanced in preservability by providing a dye receiving layer composed of a vinyl chloride resin to one surface of a substrate and providing a back layer composed of a methyl methacrylate resin to the opposite surface thereof. CONSTITUTION:An image receiving medium is constituted by applying a dye receiving layer B composed of a vinyl chloride resin on an image receiving substrate A and applying a back layer C composed of a methyl methacrylate resin to the opposite surface thereof. A sublimable dye is sublimed and diffused from the dye transfer layer 4 of a sublimation transfer recording medium by the heat from a thermal head 1 and the sublimed dye is transferred to the dye receiving layer B of the image receiving medium and diffused throughout the dyeing resin forming the dye receiving layer B to dye the resin. When images after recording are preserved in a superposed state, the dye fixed to the receiving layer does not transfer to the rear during preservation and a stable image is obtained.
