The installation searches by a passive sensor a space angle region for electromagnetic pulse signals by means of a flank scanning circuit, which contains a time gate for time signal discrimination determining a preset width. From the results, signals for target search deflection are derived by a signal processor coupled behind the sensor. The derivation uses a misleading transmitter, transmitting identical pulse transmit pulses into the space endangered by enemy aircraft such that an associated misleading transmit signal appears at the passive sensor location at each point of the endagered space, at each time point and for each transmitted pulse within the time gate width.
