Maintaining filtrate pressure during reversed flow flushing - by simultaneous transfer of gradually accumulated filtrate

During liq. filtration, a separate stock of filtrate is slowly built up. When the filter is cleaned by reversed flow of filtrate, pressure on the filtrate side is kept unchanged by a rapid transfer through the filter of this stocked filtrate during the brief reversed flow flushing. Material dislodged from the filter surface during reversed flow enters the slurry side, whose pressure is increased during the flushing by additional slurry supply. Slurry chamber and filtrate stock container may form part of a cylinder holding an axially mobile piston. The filter itself may have a metal net hose mounted on a protective basket, and dividing a tubular housing into chambers for slurry and filtrate. USE - For spinning and other processes where pressure drop on filtrate side can cause prod. deterioration.
